On April 20, 2005, President
Bush signed into law, S.256 the Bankruptcy
Reform bill. The law went into effect on
October 17, 2005. The provisions in the
new law provide consumers in bankruptcy
with the skills and tools needed to avoid
future financial problems. This will be
accomplished through the required pre-filing
credit counseling and pre-discharge education
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of West
Florida Inc. is a non profit 501 C3 organization
that is *approved to
provide pre-filing credit counseling and
pre-discharge education classes, which are
both required under the new bankruptcy law.
Consumer Credit Counseling Services of West
Florida is approved to provide bankruptcy
counseling in the following states: Texas,
Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi,
Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and
Florida.
