Fair Housing Act
The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of race or
color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap. It covers most types
of housing and was designed to cover renters as well as home buyers. Home buyers are
protected in the buying process as well as the lending process.
